Ore Malik

Multi-Media Coordinator

Experience:

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and work as an Employment Specialist, helping people navigate career transitions, employment barriers, and major life changes. My work draws on strengths-based support, motivational interviewing, and collaborative goal setting to help people recognize their abilities and move forward with confidence. I have also volunteered in crisis support as a Crisis Hotline Supervisor with the Certified Listeners Society, mentored young people through Big Brothers Big Sisters, and participated in community outreach through my church. At Resilient Roots Therapy, I contribute to social media, website development, resource organization, and administrative projects while learning more about the work of a community-centered mental health practice.

"I believe that thoughtful support begins with listening, recognizing people’s strengths, and creating clear, accessible resources and experiences that help them feel seen and empowered."

Fun Facts:

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with high-protein recipes, reading about psychology and personal growth, volunteering, and finding creative ways to make everyday systems more efficient. One of my favourite reminders is that “comparison is the thief of joy” — everyone’s path unfolds differently, and growth is worth celebrating at every stage.

I support the creative and digital side of Resilient Roots Therapy, helping to share our story, build meaningful connections, and create resources that make mental health care more accessible and engaging for our community.

Land Acknowledgement

At Resilient Roots Therapy, we believe acknowledgement must be more than words. It requires reflection, ongoing learning, and a commitment to carrying what we learn into how we show up for the people and communities we serve.

RRT’s office is located in London, Ontario, on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Attawandaron Peoples. We acknowledge the enduring presence, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples on these lands.

Community Acknowledgement

We recognize that systems including colonialism, anti-Black racism, ableism, homophobia, and transphobia continue to shape experiences of mental health and healthcare.

Our commitment to anti-oppressive practice means carrying that understanding into our work through ongoing learning, cultural humility, and care that respects each person’s identity and lived experience.
