Therapy for Children & Youth in London & Across Ontario
A space where you — or your child — can be fully yourself.
Children and youth move through the world with their own unique identities, experiences, strengths, and ways of navigating what’s around them.
Whether you are a young person seeking a therapist who gets you, or a parent looking for support that truly affirms your child, Resilient Roots Therapy is here for you. We provide affirming therapy for children and youth ages 8 to 18.

Growing Up Comes With a Lot to Navigate
Finding support for your child, or looking for therapy for yourself as a young person, can mean searching for someone who truly understands the different parts of who you are and the context in which you are growing up.
You or your child may be navigating neurodivergence or a learning difference, or living with a visible or invisible disability. Racial, cultural, gender, sexual, or other identities also shape how young people experience and move through the world.
At RRT, these aren't pieces that need to be separated from who you are. We view every young person holistically, honouring all aspects of identity and lived experience.
Affirming Therapy for Children & Youth
Our work is grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives. That includes respecting young people as individuals with their own experiences, perspectives, and identities.
Therapy offers young people a dedicated space to explore what they are navigating at their own pace, while giving parents and caregivers a partner in their child's growth.

How Therapy for Children & Youth Can Support You

Navigating life, development, and the systems around you isn't something you — or your child — have to do alone.
Through therapy, we can work toward:
→ Exploring Perspectives: Create a space where a young person's unique experiences and voice are honoured, helping them feel seen and understood.
→ Navigating Big Feelings: Develop tools to identify, name, and move through difficult emotions with greater comfort and self-compassion.
→ Building Resilience and Self-Advocacy: Whether navigating neurodivergence, school, or changing relationships, we work to build confidence and skills that help young people advocate for what they need.
→ Strengthening Connections: Whether through individual therapy or involving caregivers, we look for ways to nurture the relationships and communities that matter most to the young person.
→ Focusing on What Matters to You: Move beyond expectations of how a young person "should" be, so we can prioritize the growth, interests, and goals that feel meaningful to them.

You don't need to arrive with all the answers or know exactly where to begin. Your therapist will help guide the conversation along the way. Therapy for children and youth at Resilient Roots Therapy includes:
Flexible session lengths ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, based on age, individual needs, and goals
Weekly or biweekly appointments scheduled to align with your availability
In-person therapy at our London office
Virtual therapy available to clients across Ontario
An individualized approach that considers each young person's identity, lived experiences, developmental needs, and goals
Parents & Caregivers Can Be Part of the Process
When a child or youth begins therapy at RRT, a parent may take the first step by reaching out and completing consent.
The Discovery Call may include the parent alone or the parent and child together. Once therapy begins, a young person may also want a parent to join them for a session.
Because each situation is different, your therapist can talk with you and your child about what involvement may look like.
