Experience:
With over a decade of supporting children and youth from diverse backgrounds, my personal and professional experiences have provided me with a strong understanding of cognitive and developmental disabilities, the impact of trauma, and the importance of advocacy. Through guest speaking with community organizations about children and youth, with a focus on culturally informed practices, I strive to help ensure they have access to the supports and resources they need to thrive.
"My approach to working with children and youth is grounded in a strong foundation of peer mentorship. I provide a safe space where children and youth feel supported in their mental health by using a Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused Therapy framework."
Specialties:
Mentorship, Social Work for children and youth. Adoption, disabilities, Neurological disorders, trauma, cultural formalities.
Client Focus:
Children and youth 8-15+, people with disabilities. Adopted individuals
Fun Facts:
I played basketball all through elementary school, high school, and university. I found it to be good for my mental and physical health. I also coached a high school team that made it to the finals. I am now teaching my son to play, and he is already better than me. I teach him for the same reason I played. I find it has strengthened our communication and his confidence, and makes the fun and laughter we share even better!
Find Support That Feels Like the Right Fit
Finding the right therapist isn't only about credentials or areas of practice. Connection matters, too.
Your first step at RRT is a 20-minute Discovery Call with our Clinic Coordinator.
We'll learn more about the kind of support you're looking for and help match you with a therapist in the clinic. If you start therapy and realize the fit doesn't feel right, you can come back to us. We'll talk about what wasn't working and help connect you with another therapist who may be a better fit.
