Mirlande M. Dickinson (She/Her)
Registered Psychotherapist & Social Worker
Experience:
I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years, dedicated to supporting individuals through their healing journeys. I founded Resilient Roots Therapy because I continuously saw the powerful intersections between people's adversity, resilience, and the deeply rooted identities that make them who they are. Throughout my practice, I have aimed to create a compassionate space that honours each person's unique background and strengths. My passion lies in empowering clients to embrace their authentic selves and build lasting, meaningful growth.
"My personal approach to therapy is to teach people how to work with their brain, showing them that they can start actively living life rather than feeling like life is simply happening to them."
Specialties:
Advanced solution-focused therapy stemming from neuro-linguistic programming (applied through session questioning), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and cognitive restructuring techniques.
Client Focus:
Individuals, youth 16+, adults, and older adults within the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ populations.
Fun Facts:
I've entered into the world of Rebecca Yarros's Fourth Wing and am currently on the second book, and I've developed a love for romantasy novels. I'm also an anime geek who watches way too much Japanese anime, collects anime cards, and plays in tournaments.
Find Support That Feels Like the Right Fit
Finding the right therapist isn't only about credentials or areas of practice. Connection matters, too.
Your first step at RRT is a 20-minute Discovery Call with our Clinic Coordinator.
We'll learn more about the kind of support you're looking for and help match you with a therapist in the clinic. If you start therapy and realize the fit doesn't feel right, you can come back to us. We'll talk about what wasn't working and help connect you with another therapist who may be a better fit.
